A Somewhat Spooky "Mantel"

Arizona does have some cooler weather areas, but for the most part our state is pretty warm all year round. Because of that a lot of Arizonans, ourselves included, build or buy houses that don't include a fireplace. While we did enjoy the few nights a year we lit a fire in the fireplace growing up, we really don't think it's worth it to have a fireplace here. The only problem with that decision is that we don't have a pretty mantel to decorate for the holidays! We found that the simplest solution to that problem was to buy a decorative shelf and create our own Arizona "mantel."

As per our usual,  it may not be a super scary "mantel", but it has just enough spook appeal to make it Halloween worthy. Skeletons and skulls just don't have as much of a creepiness factor if they are covered in a colorful glitter, and that's just the way we like it!
